Transponder Keys
Modern cars and other electronic locking devices are increasing using transponder keys as either a primary or secondary locking system.
Transponder keys used in cars have a computer chip embedded into the head of the key. Similarly an RFID tag or card also has a computer chip embedded inside.
The Transponder consists of a microchip and a radio antenna. The chip in the head of the key or the RFID tag contains information about the Key or Tag. The Key or Tag transmits that information to the reader using radio signals.
The Reader then picks up the radio signals from the Key or RFID tag and delivers the information it contains to the computer system.
Our Brisbane 24 hour locksmiths can clone many transponder codes from one key to another. If we cant clone a specific key we have other ways of adding new keys to transponder systems.
